A daily news report is a short update on current events in a newspaper. It can include a range of topics including political and economic news, sports events and natural disasters. These reports may also include features on social or lifestyle events and activities.
A good daily news report should have a catchy headline which will attract the attention of readers. This should be followed by the body of the report which will give proper details about the event. A news report should be written objectively and with the help of proper evidence. The main purpose of a daily news report is to provide true information to the readers.
While in the movies, reporters seem to have exciting and frenzied jobs where they live by the famous pronouncement “comfort the afflicted, afflict the comfortable,” in reality their work is often tedious and monotonous. They are chroniclers of our daily lives, sorting and sifting and bringing order to a disorderly world.
In the 1920s and 1930s, the New York Daily News found abundant subject matter in politics (such as political wrongdoing such as the Teapot Dome Scandal and social intrigue like Wallis Simpson’s romance with King Edward VIII that led to his abdication). The News was the first tabloid newspaper printed in the United States, and grew into one of the most widely circulated papers in history. It was also the first to operate a radio station, with the call letters WPIX, and television station, WNBC, both of which remain housed in the Daily News Building.
